Most of my photographs are recognisably of somewhere, a place that exists. Most of them have some idea of scale and I do try to make sure that there is something in the shot that gives the viewers something to latch on to and so make it natural to work out.
However I do also like to look for smaller abstract elements in the scene that can make a graphic or textural composition which has an interesting visual sense of its own.
These abstract compositions may well be a little jarring for regular visitors who like the landscape shots I normally post here but hopefully there is something to enjoy in these.

Thank you. Picturing good abstracts in the rocks has become a little bit of a theme for me recently so there’s more to come. I think I’ll have to start doing numbers for titles though, only so many ways to use the words!

Haha I understand what you mean! I paint and I name each piece I create. It’s not easy but it creates a more personal and meaningful experience for me
