My local village (hamlet really) has been a neglected part of my exploring, we tend to be leaving or returning to it and not actually walking around it. I managed to change that recently, purely by not feeling mentally sharp enough to cope with the sensory needs of driving (I have MS so get mentally slow days when things seem to take an age to process into some sense) so our walk was in the low autumnal sun in the local lanes.

I was quite taken by the different textures of this scene and the shapes and lines of the shadows cast on the doors. I noticed that the left door, if outward opening, could not be used so the owner, whether current or sometime past, had left it alone but had renewed the right-hand one.
